Savvy Tips & Helpful Hints

Savvy Essentials for Any Travel Destination

From the anticipation and booking your accommodations to boarding the plane, heading on your latest travel adventure is exciting. However, one thing that can put a major damper on your trip is not being fully prepared. So, how can you make sure you’re ready for one of the best trips of your life? We recommend packing these savvy essentials that you’ll want to have in your bag, no matter where you’re headed.

Wardrobe Must-Haves

While you of course want to look your very best throughout your travels, they’re something to be said for practicality. But don’t worry you don’t have to choose if you do your shopping right when purchasing these travel wardrobe must-haves.

Comfortable Shoes

There’s nothing worse than being on vacation and having sore feet that interfere with you seeing all the sights you had your hopes set on seeing. One of the best hacks to travel shoe woes is finding a pair of fashionable yet functional running shoes that you can wear most of the time you’re out and about.

Of course, you’ll want a pair of dressier shoes for dinners and night’s out, but a good pair of women’s running shoes can be a lifesaver for any traveling fashionista. You’re probably wondering why you can’t just rely on your favorite pair of sneakers. We recommend running shoes because they’re specifically designed for high-intensity and long wear. While you can take along your trusty tennis shoes, a pair of running shoes are your best bet for those days when you’ll be walking from morning to night—especially if you’ll also be standing for long periods.

Theft-Proof Backpack

When you’re exploring a new place, you’ll likely be gone for hours and hours. Bringing a backpack as your go-to bag makes it so much easier to make sure you have everything you need when you’re away from your hotel or Airbnb all day. However, not just any backpack will do. You need one that’s theft-proof, so you don’t fall victim to pick-pocketing (which is actually more common than you think all over the world).

If you don’t need to take too many things along with you, you may also be able to opt for a theft-proof fanny pack or cross-body bag.

Tech Gear

In the modern age, there is plenty of tech gear that you’ll likely be bringing along on your trip, but don’t forget these essentials:

A Phone Fan

Sight seeing is so much fun, until you realize you’re baking in the afternoon heat, tightly packed with a group of strangers. Say goodbye to overheating and melting makeup by packing a phone fan. These cool gadgets simply plug into your phone and get to work cooling you down.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Don’t get stuck struggling to sleep because of the crying baby on the plane because your headphones are ineffective. Splurge on a pair of noise-cancelling headphones to make your flight much more pleasant. Plus, they’re great if you want to exercise while traveling, or even if you need to block out your travel buddies for a big for some R&R.

Portable Charger or Backup Battery

Having a low battery can be stressful and distracting from the enjoyment of your trip. To make sure you never miss out on capturing a memory or lost in an unfamiliar city, make sure you bring a portable charger or backup battery to keep you fully charged.

Life-Saving Toiletries

While they’re usually an afterthought, toiletries can be lifesaving in an emergency—whether it be medical, wardrobe, or makeup-related. Here are a few must-haves you cannot forget:

Mini First-Aid Kit

Being overprepared is so much better than being underprepared, that’s why we recommend bringing along a mini first-aid kit that you can keep in your backpack while you’re on-the-go.

Baby Wipes

You never know when you’re going to end up somewhere that’s out of toilet paper or needs a good wipe-down. Bringing a pack of baby wipes along (or antibacterial wipes) makes sure that you’re prepared for any potentially messy situation.

Setting Spray

From excessively sweating to just needing a mid-day refresh, a good setting spray can keep you looking your best all-day-long. Spray your setting spray after finishing your makeup or before heading out for the day to keep your skin glowing for all those photo-ops.

Before zipping- up your suitcase, make sure you have these essentials packed to make sure you’re in for a trip of smooth-sailing—even your travel buddies will be grateful that you have all the bases covered.

Comfortable shoes are at the top of my list, for sure. I’m way past that phase where you want to look great in heels no matter how much your feet hurt, lol. Give me comfort every time.
