4 Lemon Water Recipes to Fuel Your Immune System

We all need to drink water. Water is essential for our hydration, and is responsible for keeping our temperature regulated on particularly hot days. Water is what helps deliver nutrients and oxygen to our cells, too, so drinking water is especially important for us to maintain healthy body systems.

Water doesn’t have to be plain. Hydration can come from multiple sources, even sodas and fruit juices. However, the downside to drinking these sugary beverages is that the sugar counteracts the health benefits of hydrating yourself. Your blood sugar will spike, and drinking sugary beverages often can lead to long-term problems like diabetes and heart disease.

Flavor your water instead with natural, healthy ingredients like lemons for vitamin C! Lemon water is great for adding a flavor boost to your hydration, while maintaining a wholesome freshness that will up your immune system. For all your water needs, Crystal Beverage Co. has single-serve bottled water so you can take your lemon water on the go!

1.   Honey Lemon Water

Honey has been known for its sweetness and antioxidant properties. When added to lemon water, honey adds a touch of sweetness without overloading our bodies with sugar. If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to your favorite summer lemonade, try drinking honey lemon water instead!

Plus, you can take your lemon water to-go! Simply slice half a lemon into ¼ inch slices, and add them into your personal water bottle. Mix in two or three tablespoons of pure honey (we recommend orange blossom honey or clover honey!), and stir well to combine.

Let the lemon infuse into the water for at least an hour, and you’ll be rewarded with a slightly sweet, slightly tangy flavored water to drink throughout the day! Plastic water bottles or aluminum bottled water are perfect for this to-go drink as you can keep a whole batch of them in your refrigerator for a flavor boost anytime!

2.   Lemon, Berry, and Mint Refresher

This recipe is for those fun picnics out with friends or family! You can make a whole pitcher of this lemon-berry water with a cool twist to serve at your next barbecue, brunch, or picnic. Choose your favorite berries from strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or even blackberries, add a couple of sprigs of mint, and slices of fresh lemon into a pitcher.

Slice up the fruits to infuse more flavor into the water. Pour in clear, natural spring water to fill the pitcher, and let it sit for at least 2-3 hours before serving. Depending on the berries you use, the water should get a magenta, berry color that beats any sugary juice! You’ll get that fresh, tart flavor of lemons, as well as a refreshing sensation from the mint.

3.   Early Morning Detox Lemon Water

When you’ve had too much to drink the night before, or you’re simply bloated, this detox lemon water is sure to get you going throughout the day. Lemon water is known to help with belly bloat, which is why some people believe drinking lemon water after big meals will improve digestion. This recipe is not only good for after meals, but is ideal for your early morning drink!

Slice up a whole cucumber, halve a handful of blueberries, and slice up a lemon. Add all the ingredients into your pitcher, and fill with distilled or natural spring water. Let the water steep with flavors overnight, and drink up a glass the next morning. You can opt to drink the water at room temperature or cold, but we recommend infusing the water in the fridge.

4.   Cold Brew Sparkling Lemon Tea

If you’re a fan of lemon tea, then this twist on an old classic is perfect for you! Despite its diuretic properties, tea is a good way to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day, and it provides you a slight caffeine boost without causing palpitations like coffee does. The sparkling water adds a touch of texture to your lemon tea as well.

Take your tea bags, and place 2-3 bags in an airtight pitcher or bottle. Add in a couple of slices of lemon, and fill with sparkling water. Seal the bottle tightly, and place in the fridge. Let the tea cold brew overnight, and you’ll have a sparkling lemon tea that won’t cause a sugar rush, and has no preservatives, artificial flavors, or coloring.
