The Best DIY Christmas Party Host Gifts
Have you already shifted over to holiday mode? Have you started thinking about the list of gifts you need to purchase, the parties you’ll be hosting, and the ones you’ll be attending? If so, then you’re not alone. As the temperatures drop and winter draws closer, it’s only natural to start thinking about Christmas and even the New Year. Often plans have to be made far in advance, and ideally your shopping so that it’s not left until the last minute.
One thing you may have on your to-do list is to pick up party host gifts. It’s always nice as a guest to show up at a party with a host or hostess gift in your hand. If you’re looking to put a more personalized twist on your host gifts this year, then giving it a DIY touch is the way to go. Here’s a look at the best DIY host gifts for the season.
A Selection of Homemade Baked Goods
Nothing says thank you and shows appreciation like a selection of homemade goodies. Sure, you could buy a box of candies or chocolates, but they just don’t hold that same personal touch as homemade goodies do. Why not make an assortment of items early in the season and then place them in Christmas cookie tins? As you attend the various events, you can give a tin to each host/hostess.
To add something special to the gift, line the tin with parchment paper (holiday themed if possible), and use decorative ribbon or a bow on the outside.
The Chalkboard Cheese Tray
One of the most common items to put out when hosting an event is a cheese tray, so why not gift the host with a very unique version of the tray? All you need to do is purchase a simple porcelain cheese tray and then paint it with chalkboard paint. Once completed, you can write a holiday-themed message on it and then include some chalk and a few varieties of wrapped up cheeses.
Each time the host uses the tray, they will be able to write down the name of the various cheeses they have placed on it, making it easier for guests to identify what they are looking for.
A Holiday Themed Spa Basket
Everyone appreciates homemade gift baskets, and what’s fun about these gifts is that you can pick any theme you want. You could fill it with holiday-scented spa items such as mint hand cream, sugar cookie scented soap, and lovely Christmas-themed hand towels, or you can pick any other theme and give it a holiday twist.
When you finish making the basket you can tie it with a holiday ribbon and even secure a tree decoration to it.
Put Your Thinking Cap On
When it comes to DIY host and hostess gifts for the various Christmas parties and gatherings, it’s all about putting your thinking cap on and looking for ways to put a personalized touch on the typical gifts and ideas.
