3 Ways To Look Fashionable On A Budget On New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve often demands a new outfit; something dazzling and unique that will turn heads as soon as you walk through the door. Buying these new clothes makes us feel wonderful; when we know that we look good, we feel good, and the better we feel, the more fun and enjoyment we have. However, buying beautiful clothes on a budget can be difficult. If you have limited funds but still want to dress well to see the new year in, here are some ways to do it.

1. Know What You Want

When you know where you are going to be spending New Year’s Eve and what you are going to be doing there, you will have a better idea of what you want to buy to wear to the event. Some parties such as the Gatsby Masquerade New Year’s Eve DC Gala will have a theme and a dress code, making things easier for you. Even if there is no theme, taking the time to browse the stores and online sites like Lily Lulu womens boutique, ask friends and family for advice, or even contacting the party organizers to check what dress code they expect is worth doing.

Once you have a good idea of what you want, you will be able to focus on searching for that item at a reasonable price, rather than becoming distracted by other items that you see along the way.

2. What Have You Got?

Before you head out shopping, take a moment to review what you already have. It may not be a job that you want to do, but it can help to make your money go further. It could be that you actually already have the ideal outfit for your New Year’s Eve party already in your closet and you just didn’t realize it. Although you may still need to buy accessories such as a mask for a masquerade ball, or perhaps a new pair of shoes, if you have the main item (a great suit or a beautiful dress), then you can save a lot of money and use something you already have.

3. Make Money

If you want to buy nice clothes to your New Year’s Eve party, you may have to spend more money on them than your budget allows for, which is why it’s a good idea to make some extra cash to take on your shopping trip with you. You may think this is easier said than done, but this piece of advice ties in with the sections above, and by going through your closet, you can actually make some extra cash.

When you are looking to see what you already have, take some additional time to decide what you want to keep and what you want to sell. Anything that no longer fits or that you are sure you won’t wear again can be sold through online storage auctions or a garage sale. The clothing needs to be in fair to good condition (the better condition, the more money you will make), so if it’s not, you should just put it in the trash instead. The money you earn through selling your old items can go towards buying the perfect party piece.

These are some great tips. We definitely have things we won’t wear anymore that we could potentially sell.

I don’t know if I’ve ever looked fashionable. But, if I did, it would have to be on a budget, lol.

If you have extra designer clothes, that are in top condition, instead of a garage sale, take them to a local high-end consignment shop. You never know how much you’ll get to fund some awesome new shoes for NYE (and you might find some awesome clothes for NYE there as well!)
