What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is also known as cryolipolysis. Cryolipolysis is a fat-freezing method used to get rid of stubborn, unwanted fat in certain parts of your body. CoolSculpting is the brand name of the product used for this method. Studies have shown that fat freezes at a much higher temperature than skin. CoolSculpting is a great treatment for individuals who are having difficulty getting rid of that extra bit of stubborn fat that conventional methods fail to do. CoolSculpting is a safe, non-invasive method that targets, freezes, and eliminates fat cells. Coolsculpting is not a weight loss procedure, however, CoolSculpting does contour and shape the body in desired areas. CoolSculpting procedures can be used to target stubborn fat in specific areas of the body such as:

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

CoolSculpting works on the principle of cooling subcutaneous fat cells to the point of freezing and destroying them. The layer of fat located just under the skin is referred to as subcutaneous fat.  CoolSculpting freezes and eliminates stubborn fat cells beneath the skin. The crystallized fat cells are then absorbed by the body. The dead fat cells are excreted through the body’s natural waste process. Traditional diet and exercise strategies do not eliminate unwanted fat cells, these methods can only reduce the size of the fat cells. CoolSculpting actually rids the body of fat cells in treated areas, resulting in a contoured, slimmer appearance.

What Is CoolSculpting Treatment?

CoolSculpting treatments are procedures used to target, freeze and eliminate unwanted stubborn fat cells beneath the skin. CoolSculpting treatments are extremely effective and require very little downtime if any depending on the treatment area. CoolSculpting treatments provide results that are noticeable and lasting to help patients look and feel their best. CoolSculpting treatments do not involve needles, surgery, anesthetic or cuts.

How Is CoolSculpting Done?

A reputable practitioner will prepare a personalized treatment plan during your initial consultation. At CoolSculpting Toronto, during your consultation, we will discuss your goals. The practitioner will then suggest the appropriate CoolSculpting treatments based on your body type and shape.   CoolSculpting in  Toronto professionals by laserbodysculpting.ca are highly reputable and provide all patients with the best possible care and outcome during CoolSculpting treatments. During a CoolSculpting treatment, the practitioner will use specialized equipment to vacuum the skin into an applicator above the area of fatty tissue. The cryolipolysis machine is then turned on to deliver a precise amount of cooling to freeze the fat cells beneath the skin. The patient’s body will then absorb these destroyed subcutaneous fat cells and excrete them through the body’s natural waste elimination process. The treatment takes approximately one hour to complete. Some patients may require more than one treatment to achieve desired results.

The Treatment

A CoolSculpting treatment involves tracing the area of treatment with a non-permanent marker so the cooling vacuum applicator can be placed in the precise position. The area of treatment will then be wiped with pretreatment wipes prior to the gel pad being placed on the skin. This protects your skin from possible frostbite. This prevents the cooling effect from damaging the epidermis, any other cells, and muscle tissue. There are certain applicators used to treat specific areas of the body, it is crucial that the practitioner chooses the correct applicator or applicators if more than one is required to achieve optimum results. The treatment will then begin by turning on the machine. The applicator will then pull in the targeted fat, hold it in place and begin the cooling process. The cooling process takes approximately an hour. Patients can relax, read or even have a nap during the procedure.

Patients are treated on an individual basis. CoolSculpting treatments are customized to meet the needs and desired results for each patient. The number of CoolSculpting treatments a patient will require will depend on the area that is being treated, the size of the treatment area, and the amount of fat that is to be removed as well as the desired results the patient would like to experience. Typically each treated area will require between 1 and 3 treatments to reach the desired results.

How Long Does CoolSculpting Take To See Results?

The time it will take to see results from CoolSculpting treatments will vary from patient to patient. Typically a patient will see noticeable results within 1 to 3 months after their first treatment. The natural waste elimination process to remove all the dead fat cells can take approximately 4 to 6 months following your final treatment. At this time patients can expect to see the full results of their CoolSculpting treatments.

How Long Does CoolSculpting Last?

CoolSculpting is a permanent solution to eliminating unwanted fat cells in areas of the body that other conventional methods such as dieting and exercising cannot control. Providing you maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy and exercising regularly the results will be permanent. However, if you fail to eat healthily and exercise regularly, you could run the chance of more fat cells developing in the treated area. CoolSculpting is not a weight loss program but rather a body shaping and sculpting method to kill and eliminate fat cells in certain areas of the body.

How Safe Is CoolSculpting?

The FDA has certified CoolSculpting as a very safe treatment to remove stubborn subcutaneous fat cells.  Unlike other traditional methods of fat removal such as liposuction, CoolSculpting does not require the use of needles, surgery, anesthetic or involve recovery time. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that effectively removes fat cells up to 25% in a treated area. CoolSculpting does not cause any liver damage or damage to skin and tissue in the surrounding treated area. The high-tech equipment that is used during the procedure specifically targets certain areas where the fat exists beneath the skin and safely administers CoolSculpting without harming skin and tissue. There is literally no downtime following CoolSculpting treatments. There is no need to book time off work for recovery. CoolSculpting is effective and safe for both men and women.
