Alex is a great communicator, Roman is a bit of an inventor, and Kali is an intuitive empath. During the protest, people are focused on what they believe to be their Constitutional rights, causing the three teenagers to realize how little they know about the Constitution.

Each of these historical figures will teach them about the original Constitution and its amendments. You’ll even travel to other countries, like Russia, where you’ll meet Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in a field within the Gulag where he was imprisoned.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Gary J. Gabel, Ed.D., has spoken to groups throughout the United States on the subjects of personal takeover, accountability, and leadership. He has personally trained thousands of people, primarily in the areas of leadership, management, motivating performance, presentation effectiveness, sales, and customer service. He has worked with over 200 CEOs, helping them build high-performing teams.

Gary has written several books, including Day One, which was jointly authored with Tom Buck and published in 2020. Gary’s other book, Personal Takeover, was published in the United States by Career Press in 2003. It was translated into Korean in 2004, with an Arabic translation in 2005. The second edition of Personal Takeover was released in October 2019.

Gary was the 2001 Entrepreneur of the Year for Service Companies in Michigan. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics and a doctorate in Education. He formerly served as Chair of the National Council on Education and Human Development at The George Washington University. His current memberships include the Oakland Schools Education Foundation Board of Trustees and Mensa.

MY REVIEW

I am absolutely in love with this book and find it the perfect read for adults and kids alike! The author wanted to create a book that would engage both adults and younger people alike all while teaching them about the Constitution. In comes The Constitution Kids, which is a must-have book that every household and family in the United States needs in their library and family book collection. This book is a fictional story about three kids, age fifteen, who are close friends and live in the same neighborhood. They discover a magical book that brings the Constitution to life for them through time travel and during their travels, they learn about the original Constitution and the importance and significance of each of the amendments through historical experiences.

I love that The Constitution Kids teaches you all about the Constitution and in a way that is easy to understand and absorb. I found myself fascinated by this book as I love learning all about the Constitution and Bill of Rights and in a way that is fun and interesting, especially in the political climate that we are living in today. This book is perfection for kids too as it will help them to understand the Constitution in a way like never before and I appreciate that the author included actual text from many of the amendments and then broke that text down in a way that young readers (and adults like myself) can appreciate and understand. I also love that the fictional main characters of the story and how they meet real life figures found throughout history all while watching the events that gave birth to the amendments included in the Constitution. I’m about half way though this book and cannot stop reading it as I am loving the knowledge I am gaining and will be gifting a few copies to the youngsters in my family. My daughter will absolutely love this one and I cannot wait to gift it to her!
