It will add a pungent flavor and a bright color similar to gold. Turmeric is used in many dishes ranging from the American mustard to Indian curry powder. This is one of the most flavorful of the cinnamon’s that can be used these days in cooking. The favorite choice for fancy coffee drinks, cookies, fruit crisps and oatmeal will also be very popular in some main dishes seen in the international cuisines that are less known like Mexican, Middle Eastern, Greek and Indian. Saigon cinnamon is basically only a key ingredient in pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup.

You receive all the benefits that are associated with the vanilla bean but the paste is much easier to actually use during cooking. The flavor is also a little more concentrated than what you get with the vanilla extract.

The recommendations we highlighted above should be tried at least once in cooking. You never know when you actually find something new that you will love. Make sure that you read indications about how to make the most out of all the new spices that you are going to use though. Using them properly can be the difference between failure and success.

Ooooh, didn’t know vanilla paste was a thing! This is something I’d use all the time in baking. Turmeric is a great spice – for something simple, you can season chicken breasts with it (turmeric, garlic powder, salt and pepper) and broil or bake them Yum!
