The Most Perfect Mashed Potatoes
Everyone will say that you ROCK! I am the Potato Gal in my family! This is so easy to make, but so easy to mess up too by over mixing.
Number of Servings: 8
Ingredients:
8 – Medium Yukon Gold Potatoes (or any that you like)
1/2 cups – hot milk
8 tablespoons – butter
1/2 cups – sour cream
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Slice Potatoes 1/4 inch thick. Cook in boiling water 12 to 15 minutes or until fork tender. Whip cooked potatoes with electric mixer, mix until moderately smooth. Don’t overbeat them….. a few lumps are good. Add hot milk, butter and sour cream. Salt and pepper to taste. Whip until mixed. Adjust thickness by adding more milk if desired.

This is exactly how my Mum likes her mash – always HOT milk.

My mom used the electric mixer with her potatoes too and made them smooth. I prefer mine chunky for some substance.
