How To Trick Yourself Into Becoming A Morning Person

According to a recent study, some 95% of Americans hate mornings. However, while this means you probably aren’t alone in pressing snooze on your alarm and wishing for five more minutes, it doesn’t make it any easier to get out of bed. This delay can lead to day-long fatigue or low focus and energy levels – meaning that it’s an issue that needs to be remedied sooner rather than later.

However, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can actually trick yourself into becoming a morning person – by making it part of your daily routineHere are some top tips to get you started!

*Start the day off with a delicious meal. You’ve heard the phrase, ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’ thousands of times now, but it is based on truth. A good breakfast can kickstart your metabolism while increasing your energy levels. As a result, you can make it a little easier for yourself to get out of bed by starting your day off with a healthy and delicious breakfast instead of grabbing a cereal bar and hoping for the best.

*Boost your energy levels. The main reason why most people are not ‘morning-people’ is that they’re tired. Thankfully, you can quickly remedy this by finding a morning-pick-me-up. While many of us will use this as an opportunity to drink coffee, it does not always agree with everyone. Thankfully, there are plenty of coffee alternatives out there for you to choose from, so you can get the benefits of the drink without the side-effects.

*Give yourself enough time to complete your morning before leaving for work. While you may be keen to get as much sleep as possible, your morning routine mustn’t be rushed – as this will only lead to you feeling tired or cranky. As a result, you should give yourself plenty of time in the morning to complete your routine. This should include some brief leisure time alongside your beauty regimen and breakfast.

*Recite affirmations upon waking up. Switching from a night-owl to a morning person is mostly about your mindset, meaning that you need to find a way to inject a little positivity into your morning mindset. One way in which you can achieve these goals is by starting your day off with positive affirmations. This is also a great way to boost your self-confidence and set the tone for the rest of the day.

*Go for a short walk. Studies suggest that going on a short walk in the morning is good for your physical and mental health. Not only will it help you to shake off your sleep (and awaken your senses), a morning walk can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. This means that you’ll be able to start every day on the right foot – even if the weather isn’t the best.

*Do one fun thing each morning. Another way you can trick yourself into becoming a morning person is by making mornings more fun. While you may not have unlimited time each morning, doing one small thing to make yourself smile – whether you journal or call a friend – is a great way to get started.

This is great advice, thanks for sharing! I am definitely not a morning person, so it would be great to be able to trick myself into being one, lol. I will have to try some of these things!
