A Christmas Photo Card – Innovative Ideas to Consider

Christmas is the season of giving and sharing. Friends and members of the family get together and celebrate their love for each other and the world. It is the happiest season and for good reason. And most of us want to share that happiness somehow, even with the people we can’t see in person. Hence, even though Christmas is still months away, now might be a good time to start thinking about your annual Christmas photo card. Personalized photo cards are a great way to send people something unique and original during the season, sending an individual message to everybody.

Making a Christmas Photo Card

A lot of people nowadays plan to make these types of cards. However, it can be difficult to come up with an idea on how to create the perfect image. Usually, when people have their picture taken at Christmas, they wear their Sunday best, hire a professional to take the photographs, and choose a bespoke location. While this works, it is expensive and it is also incredibly traditional. Most people would prefer to have something a little bit more modern and unique. Some ideas include:

  1. Recreating the nativity scene. You could place the pet in a manger, representing baby Jesus, with the family standing around it, for instance. Or, if you have a new baby, they could be the baby Jesus, making it even more realistic. It may be tempting to do something funny with this, but be respectful of those who are religious and would consider that inappropriate.
  2. Recreating a Christmas movie scene. There are so many Christmas movies out there that you can reenact, but it is likely that you will find someone else that has done exactly the same. Make yours unique and whether your favorite movie is A Christmas Carol or Bad Santa, there are plenty of memorable scenes that you can recreate.
  3. Creating a collage of different pictures. You could create a card with your favorite moments of the year for instance, sharing it with others. You probably have a wealth of digital photographs on social media that you could use for this, creating something truly unique.

If you have children in the family, make sure you involve them in deciding what the Christmas card will look like. They may also want to send some to their friends, so do consider their opinions as well. Christmas is the time for sharing, and that includes sharing ideas. While you may feel somewhat possessive over the Christmas cards, because it is something you have always done, you may just be surprised at the fantastic input that children can have.

The final thing you have to do is find a photo lab that will print the card. Luckily for you, these can now be found online, which means you don’t even have to leave the house anymore. Plus, they usually have a wealth of templates for Christmas cards available as well, so you only have to add the photographs you have chosen.
