Publisher’s Book Summary: In 1981, I. M. Pei was on a mission. A successful architect known for his modern designs, Pei was asked by the French president to redesign the Louvre Museum in Paris, home to the Mona Lisa and now famous for the glass pyramid at its center. At the time, the Louvre had many problems and no pyramid.
Pei faced many obstacles, including discrimination because he was Chinese American. Determined to succeed and make the Louvre a welcome place for all, Pei worked hard—and sometimes in secret. This is the story of a visionary who worked patiently and persistently to solve problems and achieve his goals: to plant and grow a glass pyramid.

MY REVIEW
I absolutely loved this incredible book and what a great book to include and add to my children’s book collection. This incredible read is a story about the architect I. M. Pei and the Louvre Museum and it is beautifully written and illustrated making it the perfect read for ages 4 and up. As an adult I thoroughly loved this story and loved learning about how I. M. Pei went about designing The Glass Pyramid and how he incorporated his life challenges into his decision making when it comes to designing the Glass Pyramid. I also loved reading about the magical references to his childhood and life journey in China and how he used those references too when creating this gorgeous design for the Louvre Museum in France. The challenges he faced when growing up grounded him when running into the same issues when choosing to design The Glass Pyramid. I love too that my youngest is loving this one to read before bed time as she loves the beautiful illustrations found throughout too. If you are looking for the perfect read to add to your child’s book collection or maybe a great gift idea for any kid on your gift giving list…. The Glass Pyramid: A Story of the Louvre Museum and Architect I.M. Pei is the perfect choice!
