ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Holly Peppe is a writer and editor who lives near a lake full of colorful ducks, noisy gray geese, and elegant white swans who take to the sky when they feel like flying. Her published writing includes essays about the Jazz Age poet Edna St. Vincent Millay; a memoir, Mum’s the Word: The High-flying Adventures of Eve Branson; and two Young Adult books about Barrington Irving, the first Black pilot and youngest person to fly solo around the world.

MY REVIEW

I absolutely love Sophie and the Swans and it is the perfect book for kids ages 3+. This is a fabulous story that I fell in love with personally as it reminded me of the lake I had near my house as a kid and we had swans also. I loved the beautiful illustrations found throughout the book too as it helps you to envision the story in your mind. I can totally relate to Sophie and loved the two swans, Romeo and Juliet, that hung out behind her house on the lake each day. This book will teach a lesson on bullying to your child that I especially appreciate. It is the perfect example for children as it teaches them how to respond to bullying if they happen to encounter it…. by teaching them to show kindness rather than anger in response. This is a fabulous book that your child needs In their book collection and it makes the perfect gift for the Holidays or for anytime!
