Ways To Prevent Joint and Muscle Pain Naturally

I am not sure about you, but this year I have been working on staying active as I grow older because I truly believe that exercise is the fountain of youth. I recently purchased a new stationary bike to use each day plus a set of weights to work out my arms plus we also just recently rescued a new three year old dog named Jax, and he keeps me active walking him two to three times a day. I love all of the action and when I do work out early in the morning to start off my day… it is a wonderful thing for sure and I find that I feel amazing and have more energy too which is an added bonus. Now with all of this activity… comes muscle and joint pain, which is why I wanted to share natural ways that you can relieve your muscle and joint pain effectively and in the convenience of your own home. I have to say that I am a huge fan of using a good quality muscle and joint pain relieving cream, like an Arnica Boost Recovery Cream and Fast Acting Pain Relief Gel, but there are other ways that I keep the discomfort at bay that I wanted to share with you below. Continue reading to see all of the ways that you can help to relieve your pain naturally and without medications.

Exercise & Get Moving

It sounds crazy but one of the best ways to relieve your muscle and joint pain, is to get moving. In fact, exercise is associated with a decrease in arthritis joint pain and exercise may reduce pain because it strengthens muscles that support joints all while triggering the body to release endorphins that relieve pain as well. This is so true as some mornings when I hop on my stationary bike to do a riding workout… my inner thigh will hurt, but after I get going…. it disappears. I compare it to oiling a squeaky wheel.

Pain Relieving Creams

I have an Arnica Recovery Boost Cream that I use each time I work out and I swear by it. This cream combines three powerful ingredients…. Arnica, MSM and Aloe Vera. These natural ingredients work together to attack pain and inflammation all while promoting healing. It provides the muscle and joint pain relief I am looking for perfectly due to it being a natural anti-inflammatory that provides long lasting pain relief when I need it. Think joint pain, neuropathy, muscle soreness, rapid bruise relief and it even helps to calm irritated skin and nerves.

Take Your Vitamins

Joint and Muscle Pain Relief

I did my research to find five fabulous vitamins that will help with your muscle and joint pain relief when taken regularly. Vitamins play a huge role in making sure that our bodies function properly and effectively and once in a while, our diets or our lifestyles may mean that we end up lacking a particular vitamin or a set of vitamins, which is why taking vitamin supplements is a must. There are five that are perfect for helping relieve muscle and joint pain….

*Vitamin A: Vitamin A is necessary for proper bone growth and development and a deficiency in Vitamin A can lead to poor bone health which means possible fractures when you grow older.

*Vitamin B: Vitamin B is a vitamin known to hep break down carbs and proteins and it also helps to accelerate muscle repair and even promotes cell development. If you have a lack or deficiency of Vitamin B, you can find that you may suffer from muscle cramps.

*Vitamin C: It is no secret how important Vitamin C is for your diet but it is a surprise to many that is is also one of the best vitamins for your muscles and joints! Vitamin C is a super powerful antioxidant that will help to flush lactic acid from your muscles. A buildup of lactic acid happens when your body is not getting enough oxygen and can result in a burning sensation, severe muscle tenderness and even a loss of strength.

*Vitamin D: Vitamin D is another important vitamin to take to help with muscle and joint pain prevention. It helps the body to absorb calcium and we all know calcium is good for building solid bones and muscles plus it also works as an anti-inflammatory force in helping to regulate our immune systems.

*Vitamin E: When you exercise and push your body’s limits….a protein called creatine phosphokinase (also known as CPK) enters our bloodstreams. This is where the importance of Vitamin E comes in as it works to improve our blood circulation to flush CPK out of our bodies. Also… Vitamin E is fat-soluble as it can actually attach itself to the muscle membrane to prevent free radical damage.

Get Good Sleep

We all know how important it is to get a good nights sleep but this is also true for helping to relieve your muscle and joint pain too. In fact…. getting enough sleep is super important for managing pain and promoting healing. Make sure to do whatever you can to ensure you get that solid nights sleep each night……. make sure your room is quiet and dark, put your devices away an hour or more before bed time, ban electronics from the bedroom, and establish a regular schedule for both going to sleep and getting up each day. It will make a huge difference in how you feel overall.

Enjoy A Massage

A therapeutic massage can loosen up your tight muscles and get your blood flowing. This will also immediately calm your mind and put you at ease which is huge. There are also some studies that show that massage may help to reduce pain in people that suffer from osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis too.

Make Sure To Stretch

Stretching is one of my favorite things. It just feels amazing and I can feel my muscles coming to life when I stretch and it is important to perform stretches before you work out as well as afterwards. Think about it… your body is designed for movement so if you’re not moving much because you’re in pain, your inactivity can and will for sure make the pain worse. My husband is the perfect example of this. Gentle stretches can help you maintain your mobility and range of motion all while keeping your pain at bay. You can find great stretch routines online and you can also talk to your doctor or physical therapist to help find the perfect stretches and exercises that are perfect for you and your needs.

Acupuncture

Joint & Muscle Pain Relief

I have not tried acupuncture but I know my sister swears by it. While we are still learning more about  how this ancient Chinese healing technique functions, many people swear by it to help reduce their chronic pain. It is known to help people that suffer from knee and hip arthritis, Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), Neck pain like my sister has issues with and also Sciatica related back pain.

Joint & Muscle Pain Relief

There are so many fabulous ways to reduce and relieve your joint and muscle pain that don’t involve medications. A natural treatment for me is the only way to go and it may reduce pain by a small amount, BUT when combined with other natural treatments, you will find more dramatic results. Consider trying the ideas above, and ask your health care provider for other suggestions. The best treatments are ones that suit your lifestyle and that you can commit to in the long term.
