Top up and coming places to wine and dine in London

It’s not exactly a challenge to find somewhere pleasant to sit back and relax with good food and drink when you’re in London. The real trick is finding the very best, and that can be a bit more difficult. With such a range of obvious destinations to choose from, the trick is to find those less popular locales that are investing rather than relying on reputation. Looking at the huge investments that are taking place across some of London’s lesser known areas is the key to finding your new favorite wining and dining location, and here’s where you should be checking out. Forget SoHo and Covent Garden, avoid the tourists and the ludicrous prices, and book your table now.

The buzz of Bermondsey

Named as one of the top three up and coming areas of London, Bermondsey has seen a huge amount of investment since 2016. If you live more southerly, it can be tempting to forget all about Bermondsey, but after the Sunday Times voted it as the best place to live in the UK, it’s small wonder that it offers some of the best food and drink locations in the city. Easy to get to and with enough options to keep even the fussiest of eaters happy, Bermondsey should definitely be on your radar. The nightlife is focused more towards the younger demographic, so you might need to check your energy levels before heading out.

Cutting-edge Broadgate

Sometimes it feels as if Broadgate sprang out of nowhere to become the destination of choice for the trendsetters, but its rise as the place to visit shouldn’t be a surprise. If you’re looking for a mix of stores, then Broadgate is hard to beat. It’s a brave idea in terms of creative London space, and its cutting-edge dynamic is reflected in the sheer range of food and drink options. With some of the best restaurants in London to choose from, Broadgate also has a full calendar of events and activities to explore, and the bold claim that it represents London on a micro-scale isn’t too far off the mark. As London’s largest pedestrianized space, you’re not going to have any problems finding something perfect for you.

Clerkenwell’s past leads to a positive present

Clerkenwell has had a turbulent reputation, but there have been some serious changes in recent years. No longer a forgotten No Man’s Land, Clerkenwell is now a buzzing and energetic destination that will find you wondering just how you’re going to fit it all in. However, one of the charms of Clerkenwell is the fact it embraces its rakish past rather than trying to avoid it, and that means that it has a character that many London areas can never hope to keep up with. With brick and mortar establishments offering the best in wining and dining, to the pop-up stalls that the area is becoming famous for, Clerkenwell should be near the top of your list of top places to visit when you’re looking for something a little different.

You’re not going to have a problem finding somewhere to dine out in London but if you want the best of the best, then head to these three locations for the ultimate in wining, dining, and good timing.
