The Top 4 Exterior Home Refurbishments

Exterior home refurbishments have never been more popular. Every year, the number of houses sold in the US has risen since 2011; there were 6.5 million homes sold in 2020. Alongside this increase is fiercer competition from other sellers. Therefore, people are pushing hard to ensure that their home has fantastic curb appeal. Whether you’re looking to stand out with the local area or blend in, here are the four most popular exterior home refurbishments.

Roof Replacements

The roof is an integral part of any property because it keeps our home secure from the weather. Trying to sell a house with a damaged roof is a one-way ticket to being stuck in limbo. Therefore, roof replacements are one of the most common refurbishments. With the majority of roofs lasting for 30 years, many homes built in the 1990s are due for their renewal. If you’re struggling to sell your property and haven’t taken a look at the roof, you should get in touch with an expert roofing contractor Michigan from Rock Solid Exteriors.

Extend Your Home

Altering the physical shape of your home can make an enormous impact on the value and salability of a property. You don’t need to spend a fortune to have an extension put in, and even a bay window can make a large difference. If you’re planning on installing an extension to your home, you will need to check with your state planning department to find out if you need permission. Typically, if you build within your boundary and rights, you will not need permission. However, it’s always best to double-check.

Garage Conversions

If you’ve already got the luxury of a large driveway, and your garage used to be a dumping ground, you may want to consider converting your garage. By adding an extra room to your house, you will see the value of your home go up. If you’re planning a garage conversion, you should take time to decide how you would like it to look from the curbside. Will you have a windowed wall? Will it be bay windows? Refurbish Your Door

When people walk up to your paver entryway, driveway or path, one of the first things they will see is your front door. Therefore, you should ensure that yours is looking flawless before you put your house up on the market. You don’t need to install a brand-new door and spend a fortune to achieve your goals, a simple sanding and a lick of paint may do the trick. As well as making your door look great, you can boost your property’s value by adding in extra security features, including smart video doorbells.

The housing market is becoming increasingly competitive, which is why exterior renovations are extremely popular right now. You don’t need to spend a fortune on the renovations, but you should check the property for structural issues before you get started. Although some of these tasks can be completed DIY style, it’s best to consult with a professional.

Having a good roof is definitely so important! It can affect everything else when your roof has a leak or is really old. I can see why you would want to refurbish your front door, too, if it is old or ugly. If I owned my own home, I would paint it a fun color!
