The Ghost Writer Book Review PLUS A Giveaway! #GhostWriter

I am an avid reader and love reading a good book when the time allows and my favorite day is a good rain day as its the perfect time to make a hot steaming cup of tea and sit and curl up with a good book to read for hours. I love getting lost in a good book which is why I wanted to share a series that I have fallen in love with from author L. G. Nixon and it is called the Issachar Gatekeeper Series. I have read the first book in this supernatural warfare series titled The Ghost Of Darwin Stewart and am now reading the second book in the series titled….. The Ghost Writer. The Ghost Writer is fabulous and I knew that I would love it as it is a paranormal storyline, which has always been my favorite genre to read. L.G. Nixon’s writing style is spot on too as I cannot seem to pull myself away from this book and for me that is always a great sign when picking a series to read. If the writing is slow…. I lose interest but that is not the case with The Ghost Writer and the same held true with the first book in the series too…. The Ghost of Darwin Stewart. This is a book the entire family can enjoy too as LG Nixon created likeable characters that the entire family will love and I appreciate that her stories are meant to be lighthearted all while providing an underlying message of the importance of a Biblical worldview. What I appreciate most about her writing style is that her stories are clean, entertaining reads for the young adult that loves a good thrill reading experience. I love getting lost in her books and The Ghost Writer provides me with that very experience each and every time I sit down to read.

Before I tell you about The Ghost Writer let me tell you a bit about the first book in the series…. The Ghost of Darwin Stewart. This is a story that centers around Lucy Hornberger, the main character that happens to have an ancient artifact that everyone seems to want…. and it is called the Spectrescope. The Spectrescope has revealed a captivating reality filled with spirits, magic and Irredaemons who have crossed over into Lucy’s world. Lucy herself has discovered deep secrets that could destroy both realities.

In this book…..Lucy finds herself entangled in an unfathomable struggle against a spirit world she truly never knew existed and her understanding of reality has her now questioning everything she thought she knew. All of the things she thought were tall tales….. such as anything involving fantasy, spirits, ghosts, shapeshifters and even magical objects…. are suddenly very real and scary too. As the entities continue to get their hands on the Spectrescope, Lucy must do everything to search for a way to stop the spirits once and for all and then discover the truth about the unseen realm. Now… Lucy must make a choice….. on whether to protect the ancient artifact and to defend the world as she knows it from this horrible evil that is threatening it or to make the choice to give up to protect her family, friends and herself?! This is a hard choice for sure but you can rest assured…. Lucy will make the right one. I love her character so much and she is what makes this series so hard to put down.

Now let me tell you about The Ghost Writer…. the sequel to The Ghost of Darwin Stewart and I am so glad to have had the chance to start reading this one as I love that it’s a ghost story based on Biblical definitions of ghosts and spirits! I was on the lookout for a new good book to read so when I found out that Book 2 in the Issachar Gatekeeper Series was available I jumped at the chance to read The Ghost Writer. In this one Lucy teams up with fellow Ghost hunter Schuyler Williams and they are both busy chasing ghosts throughout their school. The problem is there is something weird going on because as quickly as they vanish one ghost another one appears to take its place and Lucy ends up getting accused and blamed for the destruction. The duo soon learns that someone has been cursed but they have to figure out who. As they search to find out who that someone in danger is…. aka a student at their school…. they find that the dark prince is unleashing his forces to distract Lucy all while destroying her ,love for the High King.

Sounds really good right?! Seriously this book is so good and I will be done with it in a day or two tops. I cannot wait to learn more as I know the dark prince, Darnathian, is working hard to strengthen his efforts to acquire the magical artifact and if he can get Lucy out of the way… it will be just that much easier for him to do as with the ancient artifact she can see, track and vanquish ghosts plus the device also holds a powerful weapon which can only be acquired by Bachar, a chosen one. It must be destroyed once he learns of its secrets and fans its power. The search goes on with Darnathian searching for the ancient manuscripts all while his assistant is running all of the hauntings going on at the school with an evil device of his own. Be prepared to immerse yourself in paranormal adventures all while falling in love with my favorite characters in the books. Lucy is my girl and I know she will succeed and I cannot wait to see how she does it by the books end. I will be back too update when I finish it.
