Homemade Facial Mask Recipes

Everyone needs a treat-yourself day every once in a while, especially when life gets stressful. As mothers, we are always taking care of everyone else. It is important to make sure you are taking care of yourself, so that you can keep up the momentum to continue taking good care of your kids. Sometimes however, visiting luxury spas Idaho Falls and getting professional massages are not always feasible to do often because they can be expensive. Treating yourself should not have to break the bank. Here are some great recipes that you can use to create your own home spa with your friends. It is so fun to mix up these recipes and laugh at each other with different colors on your faces. All of these masks are ones you can make with household food you may already have in your home!

Oatmeal Hydrating Mask

This mask is great for winter time when our face and skin seems to be dry due to the cold, and can help bring hydration back to your skin to leave it feeling smooth and soft. With the water, you will want to boil it first to boil any impurities out of it, and then let it cool down before using. With the oatmeal, if you have a blender or food processor, blend up the oats for an easier and less clumpy application.

*¼ Cup of warm water

*½ cup of oatmeal

*1 Tblsp of melted coconut oil

Oatmeal Exfoliating Mask

Sometimes exfoliating creams and masks can be really harsh and abrasive to your skin. It is often difficult to find one that will clean your skin and leave it soft without it being painful or leaving you feeling raw. This recipe is not your typical exfoliating mask as it is not a scrub, but will be sure to do the trick to leave your skin feeling soft and clean while removing dead skin cells. For best results be sure to chop your cucumbers incredibly tiny, and blitz your oatmeal in the blender.

*2 Tblsp of plain Yogurt (must have zero sugar)

*2 Tblsp of diced cucumber

*2 Tblsp of Oatmeal

*1 tsp of chopped sage

Oatmeal Mask For Oily Skin

Eggs contain incredible nutrients and are beneficial to you even if you do not eat them. They can help exfoliate and tighten the skin when applied. For best results, whip the egg white first until it becomes frothy, and blitz the oatmeal to become a powder. The oatmeal will help to absorb any excess oil on your skin.

*1 egg white

*1 tsp honey

*2 Tblsp oatmeal

If you have normal skin, you can keep the egg together without separating it, and still use this recipe.

Youthful Banana Mask

Bananas have many natural nutrients that are beneficial for your skin. This mask is so yummy you can even eat it.

*One mashed banana

*¼ Cup of whipping cream

Mix the two ingredients together and apply to your face. The banana will help to tighten the skin and the cream will help bring moisture to your skin and leave it glowing.

Avocado Face Mask

This one you will want to blend up in a blender for a nice and creamy application. This homemade mask is great for any type of skin, and will feel refreshing. Your skin will feel nice and hydrated afterwards.

*1 avocado

*⅓ Cup of Plain Greek yogurt (no sugar)

*2 Tblsp honey

*½ tsp apple cider vinegar

*2 Tblsp oatmeal

Now it is time to get your girlfriends together for a relaxing spa night on a budget!
