Here’s How Commercial Truck Accidents Differ From Car Accidents
Commercial truck accidents are different from car accidents in several ways.
While both types of accidents involve motor vehicles and can result in serious injuries or fatalities, the consequences of a commercial truck accident can be more severe due to the size and weight of commercial trucks.
In this blog post, we will explore the differences between commercial truck accidents and car accidents and why it is important to hire a commercial truck accident attorney if you have been involved in a commercial truck accident.

Size and Weight
One of the main differences between commercial truck accidents and car accidents is the size and weight of the vehicles involved. Commercial trucks weigh up to 80,000 pounds, while the average passenger vehicle weighs around 4,000 pounds. The sheer size and weight of commercial trucks make them more difficult to maneuver and stop, which can result in accidents if the truck driver is not paying attention or driving safely.
Injuries and Fatalities
Another difference between commercial truck and car accidents is the severity of injuries and fatalities. Due to the size and weight of commercial trucks, accidents involving these vehicles can result in more serious injuries and fatalities than car accidents. Commercial trucks also carry hazardous materials, such as chemicals and flammable liquids, which can increase the risk of explosions and fires in the event of an accident.
Liability
Determining liability in a commercial truck accident can be more complex than in a car accident. In a car accident, the driver of the at-fault vehicle is typically held responsible. However, in a commercial truck accident, multiple parties could be held liable, including the truck driver, the trucking company, the owner of the cargo, and the manufacturer of the truck or its parts. A commercial truck accident attorney can help you identify all parties who may be responsible for your injuries and hold them accountable.
Regulations
Commercial trucks are subject to federal and state regulations that do not apply to passenger vehicles. These regulations cover everything from the size and weight of the truck to the hours of service that truck drivers are allowed to work. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in fines and other penalties. In addition, violations of these regulations can be used as evidence of negligence in a commercial truck accident case.
Why Hire a Commercial Truck Accident Attorney?
If you have been involved in a commercial truck accident, hiring a commercial truck accident attorney as soon as possible is important. An experienced attorney can help you navigate the complex legal process and ensure that your rights are protected. A commercial truck accident attorney can also help you recover compensation for your injuries, including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
Commercial truck accident attorneys have experience handling commercial truck cases and understand the unique challenges these cases present. They also have the resources and expertise to conduct a thorough investigation and build a strong case on your behalf. In addition, commercial truck accident attorneys are familiar with federal and state regulations governing commercial trucks and can use this knowledge to hold all responsible parties accountable for their injuries.

I really did not know that Commercial truck accidents have their own lawyers! I never thought about there being any differences. Except a truck, is a lot bigger than a car. Usually when hit by a semi truck there aren’t any survivors! Unfortunately!!!
