Celebrating 250 Years of America with the SMITHEY No. 11 American Anniversary Skillet
Some kitchen pieces are made for cooking, while others are made to become part of your family’s story. The SMITHEY No. 11 American Anniversary Skillet is one of those truly special pieces, and I couldn’t be more excited to add it to my kitchen!

As a foodie who loves spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for my family, I have a special appreciation for cookware that combines exceptional craftsmanship, timeless beauty, and the kind of quality meant to last for generations. And when a piece celebrates American history, family traditions, and the joy of gathering around the table, it becomes even more meaningful.

What makes this skillet extra special to me is my love for SMITHEY, a brand based in Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston holds such a special place in my heart because it’s where I grew up! There’s something wonderful about connecting with a brand that celebrates American craftsmanship while also bringing a little piece of a place you love into your home. This skillet feels personal in so many ways, and I absolutely adore what it represents.

Created to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, this limited-edition No. 11 skillet is a beautiful tribute to the traditions that have brought families together for generations. Cast iron has always had a place in American kitchens, from Southern cornbread baked to golden perfection to hearty one-pan dinners shared around the family table. It’s cookware that tells a story, and I love the thought of creating new memories with a piece that honors so much history.

And can we talk about the details? The custom-cast American Bald Eagle in flight is such a beautiful tribute to our country, making this skillet a true celebration piece. Made right here in the USA, it features SMITHEY’s signature three-hole helper handle, convenient pour spouts, a smooth polished cooking surface, and naturally nonstick performance without chemical coatings. It’s a gorgeous combination of traditional craftsmanship and meaningful American pride.

Of course, my mind is already dreaming up all the delicious things I’ll be making in it! First on my list? Homemade Southern cornbread, just like my grandma used to make! There’s something about those cherished family recipes that never goes out of style. I can also picture golden, bubbling skillet pot pies, hearty comfort-food favorites, sizzling breakfast dishes, delicious one-pan dinners, and so many more family recipes made with love.

That’s what I appreciate most about a piece like this. It isn’t just something beautiful to display. It’s meant to be used, loved, seasoned, and passed down while becoming part of the memories made around your table. From everyday family dinners to special holiday gatherings, I can see this skillet becoming a treasured part of my kitchen for years to come.

Thank you, SMITHEY, for creating such a meaningful piece that celebrates American heritage, exceptional craftsmanship, and the simple joy of cooking for the people we love. As someone who grew up in Charleston and truly loves all things food and family, this American Anniversary Skillet is extra special to me. I’m so excited to put it to work and fill it with delicious food, cherished traditions, and plenty of love!

That is such pretty skillet! I love cooking with cast-iron, and the embossed design is sharp. Does the embossment affect heat uptake and retention?

That eagle design makes this skillet such a special keepsake! I love that your connection to Charleston gives it even more meaning. Your mention of homemade Southern cornbread has me craving a warm slice. What a lovely piece to cook with now and pass down through the family.

Yes and I did make the cornbread and it was amazing! Crusty on the Botton because I preheated the pan before adding the cornbread mixture 🙂 YUM!

I didn’t even know they had a limited-edition skillet! It looks so nice, but I honestly don’t think I’d have the heart to use it. I’d probably just keep it as a collector’s piece to remember this special moment in history.

I do need a new skillet. This one looks like it will come in handy. If anything, it could also be a great weapon to crack someone over the head if they start to bug me. Like Rapunzel did, ha.
mcushing7
Hilarious and Yes! It is a weapon for sure. I have to be careful when in my sink as not to chip the enamel LOL….. BUT it is a fabulous pan. Just made a delicious baked broccoli and cheese gnocchi recipe in the pan and it was incredible!
