Beauty is Born Within Us All

Beauty is such a subjective notion, and despite scientific attempts to quantify what constitutes beauty, there is no definitive answer. There are many ways in which people express themselves and feel beautiful, and many people see beauty differently. There are ways in which we can better our personal outlook and gain confidence in ourselves, without altering who you are. A healthy lifestyle will reflect a more confident you, and through implementing some simple strategies and accepting who you are you can be well on your way to feeling better about yourself straightaway.

Drink plenty of water

Hydration is essential, and you wouldn’t last long without a water supply. The human body is mostly made up of water, and it is the lifeblood of all our internal organs. Dehydration causes strain on body systems and leads to reduced brain function, dry skin, dry hair, headaches, and lethargy. Extreme cases can result in kidney damage or even failure. All of these will, in turn, have an effect on your appearance, making you look and feel tired, have shadows under your eyes, and cause your skin and hair to look lifeless. You need to aim to be drinking at least two liters of water a day to keep yourself hydrated and flush your body free of toxins, so if you want to have a fresh glow and plumped up skin, don’t underestimate the importance of water.

Avoid stress

Worry and anxiety can make you look unhappy and increase wrinkling of the skin. The muscles in the face will convey your state of mind to anyone looking at you, and stress can lead to high levels of the fight or flight hormones adrenaline and cortisol. While they are essential in survival terms, they can also be damaging to your health if over-production becomes chronic. It is not unusual for people to suffer from stress and anxiety, especially if they are facing new challenges and situations. This is just how your body works. But when these emotions begin to take over your life, this is when you know you need to do something about it. Most people may prefer to seek out alternative treatments and medications, such as looking at products from somewhere like this mail order marijuana canada company, to see if the medical cannabis route can help their symptoms. This usually tends to be done in the most severe of circumstances, and in addition, can have a benefit on your skin, especially if you suffer from acne. As well as this, relaxation and meditation are good ways to relieve stress and smooth out your face, and there are exercise programs for the facial muscles that can firm and strengthen your skin and muscle tone for a more youthful look.

Feel good about yourself

Feeling that you are not worthy and having low self-esteem or struggling with a depression, will all show in your body language and demeanor. The effects of having a lack of self-confidence and no belief in yourself are apparent in your general attitude and the way you walk and hold yourself. If you feel suspicious and afraid all the time, you appear unhappy and unapproachable; if you have a lot of unexpressed emotion such as grief or anger, this may start to affect your day to day life and relationships, both at work and with friends and loved ones. If you recognize this in yourself, try finding out how to approach changing the way you feel using Self Esteem Solutions. If you feel confident and know your own value, this will be expressed in your appearance. Taking small steps in accepting who you are and having a positive outlook will work wonders, and you will notice your general day to day life change with a happier more positive attitude.

Eating healthily

Having a healthy diet is also known to be particularly beneficial to better health and improved well-being. This is something that can’t be overstated because it is at the root of our physical appearance and health. What you eat will be reflected in your physical appearance, so if you eat a lot of junk food your body is going to be gaining weight, and you may potentially be at risk of health problems like Type 2 diabetes, and you’ll be putting a strain on all your organs and joints. You may be lacking certain vitamins and minerals in your diet that means you have dull skin or hair, or you’re prone to flaky skin and pimples. By eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, whole foods and high-quality protein, you’ll be fueling your body in the most effective way, and this will show in the way you look. Eating healthily doesn’t have to be boring, as you can mix things up and create an exciting new meal plan full of interesting meals and new flavors. Again, what is key here is looking at things positively. If you start with this outlook, every step will be easier than before.

Exercising

Another aspect of our lives that is mentioned in society in terms of general health is the importance of exercise. The benefits of including exercise in your routine are familiar to many. Getting the blood flowing through your body does it a world of good, strengthening and conditioning you physically and getting oxygen to all parts of your body. If you want glowing skin and a firm physique, exercise is the best way to achieve it, plus you’ll be doing your general health a favor too. You may not feel very beautiful when the sweat is pouring down your face, and you’re gasping for air – and of course, overdoing it isn’t a good idea either – but it will be worth the effort when you get yourself out in the evening, radiant with health.

Check for medical issues too

Your face is a good barometer of your general health, so if you are looking peaky, pale, discolored, you have an unexplained rash, you seem to be aging more rapidly or in fact anything out of the ordinary, get a medical opinion in case there is an underlying health issue causing your face to look that way. Many conditions have symptoms that manifest themselves on your face, so it’s as well to get yourself checked over to make sure all is well. Checking with medical professionals is the best option for instances such as this, we don’t know if we are fully well, and getting the right help can help ease those worries. If you feel like you aren’t listened to by your doctor in circumstances such as these, you can check out other clinics/care centers that may be suited more to you. You can learn more over at southwestcare.org or at clinics closer to you, so you can view and go over your potential options.
Beauty may be subjective in its intricacies, but the principles of beauty lie in the outward expression of the face. So much of what makes you beautiful comes from within your mind and body and as a result of the physical expression of your emotions. If you want to look your best, nurture your mental and physical wellbeing and let your beauty shine from within.

The old saying “Pretty is, is pretty does” holds very true. Taking care of oneself is so important from the inside out. There is no need to worry – what is going to happen, is going to happen. Water comes in many different flavors & styles & qualities & quantities – give it a try! I loathe exercise – but my little dog does need her walk – so, I rationalize – she’s getting the exercise; I’m just there for the company 😉 And you’ll never see me count calories or turn down a plate of spaghetti – but I do have a vegetable and salad prepared every night for dinner when I sit with my family. It’s the simple things. It’s self-confidence, liking who you are and who you are becoming on your journey through life. That’s beauty and it’s inside all of us. Thank you for the reminder. 🙂

Great points and good to stop and think about. The older I got the more I realized that it was all about asking myself some questions. Would this matter in two weeks? Do I have anything to prove to anyone but myself? Do I feel good about myself? And the most important question I asked myself was ‘am I settling for less than I want out of life?’ Because ultimately you make your own happiness.

Are you sure you aren’t a motivational speaker? Lol, because your list is completely accurate. I need to drink water, excercise, and see the doctor! I also need to eat right!
