It’s no secret to anyone that knows me that I love to cook and create delicious and nutritious meals for my family and on occasion some yummy not-so-good-for-you baked goods. I received three of their most popular spoons….. their 13″ Soup Ladle, 12″ Serving Spoon, and 11″ Simple Spoon and my first impression was that they are gorgeous! These pieces are hand crafted works of art that I will enjoy using and that I will be gifting to a few foodies on my gift giving list throughout the year because I know they too will love them. The mission behind Lesvos Woodcraft is to provide a sales platform for hand-carved spoons crafted by displaced individuals who have arrived in Greece, seeking to rebuild their lives in Europe. Through this incredible initiative, they’re aiming to support their integration into Greek society by offering not only a means of income, but also language lessons and vocational training. Their goal is to empower these artisans all while building together a future of hope, opportunity, and renewed faith and I find that to be a beautiful thing. The folks at Lesvos Woodcraft did this because on average it takes 10-20 years for a displaced person to become a contributing member in their community and economy but by providing a means of income and vocational training, their goal is to reduce this time to 2-3 years. That is huge and a wonderful thing indeed. Now let’s take a look at the beautiful spoons that these craftsmen are creating….

Lesvos Woodcraft’s 13″ Soup Ladle is a must have. This is their most popular Ladle and for good reason…. it is beautifully crafted and works perfectly. This piece features an extended handle that is designed to reach further into your pot or bowl so that you can get to every last drop of soup or lemonade.

I made a batch of homemade White Bean and Quinoa Soup and this ladle served the insanely yummy soup perfectly. This Olive Wood Spoon showcases the hand-carved craftsmanship perfectly and I love that each one is created by skilled artisans which offers superior quality and uniqueness compared to machine-made alternatives.

Their 13″ Soup Ladle provides a deeper bowl design as compared to typical ladels and this ingenious design allows you to serve generous portions of whatever you throw its way….. think food, soups, stews, and sauces. Maintenance of their hand-craved olive wood spoons is simple and easy to do also. To keep this ladle and any of Lesvos Woodcraft’s Hand-Carved Olive Wood Spoons in tip top shape and to ensure it lasts for years and years to come is to hand wash with mild soap and warm water. You will want to dry them thoroughly and apply a light coat of olive oil or natural mineral oil whenever it is looking dry as this will ensure it does not dry out all while retaining its natural luster and beauty.

It is just so pretty too and the perfect spoon to sue when serving, especially when you have guests over.

This simple yet super functional design makes it a very universal tool in the kitchen and I admit that I love it. This is hand-carved craftsmanship at its finest and each and every spoon, like all of the beautiful pieces that they carry, are meticulously hand-carved by skilled artisans making it a one of a kind culinary masterpiece fthat is perfect for any kitchen.
