5 of the Top Searched Pizza Joints In the US Discussed
I have a confession to make: I am a pizza addict. My personal feeling is that you can’t ever go wrong with a pizza night. However, there are some pizza options that are definitely not the cream of the crop. My personal opinion is that you’re always going to get the best results when you go for a very local chain or a pizza restaurant. Chains are consistent, but they do not deliver the same quality of pizza that you can find in a local restaurant that doesn’t have to operate on the same scale.
This is why this study was so interesting and also so depressing to see. Folks are NOT choosing high-quality pizza and they’re opting for the chain option instead. Now to be clear, some chains deliver high-quality pizza, but others… not so much! These are some thoughts about each of the pizza joints featured in this study, ranked from best to worst pizza.
1. Mellow Mushroom
Not going to lie, this is an amazing pizza option if you happen to live in the vicinity of one. They do a great crust and their menu features a ton of options for specialty pies. Plus their pretzel bites are top tier.
2. Papa Murphy’s
Papa Murphy’s is probably your best option if you’re going for one of the really big pizza chains. They’re consistently pretty good, and if you’re looking for a solid choice that’s always a good way to go. But it’s not going to be the same as a local joint. However, sometimes you just need greasy pizza and in those moments, Papa Murphy’s is a solid way to go.
3. Papa John’s
Papa John’s is not great pizza, but it’s not the absolute worst option. The basic options are okay, but they aren’t as good as other chain options, and you’re always going to have a better experience with somewhere local. Even if you’re in the mood for bad pizza, Papa John’s is too bad to even enjoy.
4. Dominos
There is a reason that Dominos is relegated to the late-night snack you order after a long night out at the bars. It’s cheap, it’s fast, and it’s easy, but it never tastes as good as a local pizza joint, especially if you haven’t consumed a lot of alcohol before ordering it.
5. Little Caesar’s
If you’ve ever ordered Little Caesar’s, I am very sorry for your troubles. Little Caesar’s is the absolute bottom of the barrel when it comes to pizza options and should always be a last resort.

I don’t eat ANY chain pizza. And yes.. Little Caesar’s I call foot pizza because it smells like a dirty foot.. seriously disgusting LOL. We have ONE place where I live that has real NY style pizza. Everytime we go to NY and NJ I pig out on pizza because that is what pizza is supposed to looks and taste like.
