How to Quiet Your Mind
Ever feel like your brain is an internet browser with 27 tabs open? In this switched on, always on the go world we live in, it’s easy for us to feel overwhelmed with everything, and hard for us to dial down our thoughts and just relax for a while.
As you can imagine, this is not exactly great for our mental health and can lead to issues like anxiety, stress and depression when left unchecked. The good news is, with a little effort (just a little, I promise) it is possible to mute your mental chatter as you will see below.
1. Puzzle It Out
Whether you’re a crossword aficionado, a Sudoku wizard, a spider solitaire star, or a jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, engaging in these activities is like sending your brain to the spa. They help focus your mind on a single task, which is surprisingly soothing. It’s a productive distraction that keeps the mental noise at bay while sharpening your cognitive skills. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of putting in the final piece of a puzzle or solving that tricky clue. Victory!
2. Meditation
Meditation might seem like a cliché suggestion, but there’s a reason it’s stood the test of time. You don’t need incense or a room full of candles—just a few minutes and a quiet corner.
