Digging Deeper Into God’s Word: Why the Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids Is a Summer Must-Have PLUS A Giveaway!
Many thanks to Lifeway Christian Resources for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
As a parent (or ministry leader), I’m always looking for resources that help kids move beyond simply reading Bible stories and begin truly understanding what they’re reading. That’s why I was excited to discover the Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids.
What immediately stood out to me is how approachable and engaging it is for young learners. Instead of overwhelming kids with lengthy explanations, this resource introduces more than 750 common Bible terms with clear, kid-friendly definitions that help make sense of the people, places, and events they encounter in Scripture. The result is a reference tool that feels less like homework and more like an adventure.
One of my favorite features is the vibrant, full-color design. Throughout the book, kids will find illustrations, maps, images, and reconstructions that bring biblical concepts to life. These visual elements help bridge the gap between the ancient world of the Bible and a child’s everyday experience, making learning both memorable and meaningful.
I also appreciate that this isn’t a resource kids will quickly outgrow. Designed for use at home, church, or school, the Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids serves as a helpful companion for family Bible study, personal devotion time, homeschool lessons, and Sunday school discussions. It’s the kind of book children can return to again and again as their understanding of Scripture grows.
With summer offering a little extra flexibility in our schedules, this is the perfect season to invest in resources that encourage spiritual growth. Whether your child is asking questions about unfamiliar Bible words or simply loves discovering new facts, the Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids provides an engaging way to build biblical literacy and confidence.

This is the perfect Bible for any kid. I love how easy it makes it for them to take in the Word and really digest it. Adult Bibles are just big, hard words for most kids.
