Savvy Tips & Helpful Hints

Where Can I Find Quality Affordable CBD Oil?

CBD is a wellness supplement that’s been in the headlines frequently in recent years, thanks to the wealth of potential benefits it offers. It’s becoming increasingly easy to find, assuming you’re in a legal state, but the key to a quality purchase at a value price is to know what you’re looking for.

There are thousands of online retailers and brick-and-mortar stores selling CBD oil these days, with 47 states legalizing CBD from hemp, marijuana or both, according to Consumer Reports. You may be able to buy CBD from a retailer right in your own town, but if you live in Idaho, Nebraska, or South Dakota, no cannabis products are legal, which means you’re out of luck, even for delivery from another state, at least until the laws have changed. Among the rest where it’s legal, many don’t require testing and even those that do, details vary considerably which makes it even more important to self-police as the publication notes.

While searching for the best source for quality, affordable CBD oil, keep the following in mind.

Reputation of the Source

In order for CBD to be effective, high-quality hemp must be used to extract the oil. The hemp has to be grown under the right conditions and properly cared for during the process to produce the best CBD oil. Cannabis leaves tend to vary dramatically when it comes to quality, so suppliers like Lab VII CBD must use only the purest products. Another concern is chemicals, as the plants pull up any compounds that might have been used during the growing process such as pesticides and heavy metals. The company and/or its suppliers should, therefore, be testing the plants frequently while they’re growing to protect against the risk. Finished products need to be tested using validated methods as well.

Ideally, search for CBD oil that is sold by a highly reputable company such as Primary Jane, sourcing products that are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides.

Consider THC Concentrations

Many CBD oils contain only trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which means they won’t make you feel “high” as THC is marijuana’s psychoactive cannabinoid. If you want to find one that contains more than .3 percent, you’ll need to be at least 21 years of age and in a state where marijuana has been legalized. Currently, that’s Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia. In the other states where medical marijuana is legal, you’ll need to get a recommendation from a physician.

You can ask to see the test results via a certificate of analysis (COA), which will show how the product performed on tests that check for THC and CBD levels, as well as the presence of any contaminants. If you’re refused for any reason, avoid the retailer.

What to Look For to Avoid Scams

As with almost everything these days, there are scammers out there you’ll want to avoid. They may even claim to be a company of medical professionals and seem to be legit, but if you notice words like “cure” describing the benefits of their products, that’s a big red flag. You’ll often find these scammers on social networking sites like Facebook and YouTube – they typically sell low-grade (low-quality) CBD oil that’s never been lab-tested, or isn’t even CBD oil at all.

I’ve been wanting to try CBD oil for my arthritis. I’ve heard good things about it from friends, so I think I’ll try it, but I’m clueless about what to look for, so thank you for the information.
