MY REVIEW

Abigail and the Waterfall follows young Abigail and her family on a hiking adventure, culminating in a visit to her favorite place: a beautiful freshwater waterfall in the forest. Along the way, they observe their surroundings such as birds, dragonflies, a thriving creek ecosystem—and learn to stay on the trail to protect fragile creek banks and wildlife. They also discover the little fish that swim in the creek, which tell them how healthy the creek environment is and enjoy a picnic soaking up sunshine while observing butterflies, ducks and more afterwards. Abigail and her family also learn the importance of cleaning up behind themselves when out exploring nature by picking up their trash and are inspired by reflecting on their responsibility to care for life and all that God has created. I also loved the part where the family encounters a Mountain Dusky Salamander near the waterfall and Abigail gets a close up with it….admiring it eye ball to eye ball. Such a cute book, with illustrations that will keep the little ones wanting to read more and a message that is perfect for young curious minds. I love it

I am loving Abigail and the Waterfall because not only is it fabulously written but it’s also fabulously illustrated and the story itself… is super special. I loved reading this book with my daughter because it offers a heartwarming and thoughtful reading experience that celebrates the beauty of nature, faith, and responsible stewardship. Through little Abigail’s eyes, young readers & their families are gently invited to appreciate God’s creation and consider how they can help to protect it. It’s a book designed to spark meaningful conversations between parents and their children and even caregivers and children. I loved the little bible verses found throughout too and also appreciated how Abigail and her family do their part to reduce their use of plastics all while ensuring that they take all of their trash with them when they leave. My daughter loves it too and wanted to keep turning the pages when I was reading it to her as she loved the pictures so much. I will be grabbing a few copies to gift to a few special kids on my gift giving list too because it’s a must-have!
