My Delicious Homemade Meatball Recipe Made With Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs @PeteandGerrys
I received product in exchange for an honest and unbiased review and all opinions are 100% my own. Regardless, I only review products that I am truly interested in for myself and my family and of course for sharing those reviews with my Savvy Readers! Enjoy this delicious family recipe!
Now… it is no secret that I am a Southern Cook at heart but it is also no secret that I have a broad love of food and that I have always loved trying new recipes and perfecting them to add to my family’s weeknight menu. One of my families favorites is my homemade recipe of meatballs slow cooked in a homemade tomato sauce. This is a fabulous recipe and I save a few batches to put in the freezer for a quick, homemade weeknight meal. The sauce and meatballs reheat perfectly each and every time. Great with pasta and also amazing on fresh hero bread with some cheese or even slicing the meatballs and making a homemade meatball pizza. This recipe is always a hit and it is made even better by incorporating Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs. There are many reasons that their eggs are the most delicious eggs that I have ever had…. and I love that they are Free Range. Make sure to check below to see my Homemade Meatball recipe.

- Gather all of the ingredients needed for your meatball mixture.
- Mix the dry ingredients. Mix the garlic, parsley, cheese, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.
- Add the ground beef to the cheese and breadcrumb mixture. Add 4 tablespoons milk and 4 eggs (I prefer Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs). This is where you will want to get your hands dirty and mix thoroughly.
- Roll the mixture into meatballs. My family likes a large size meatball and we have one with our pasta... but you can make them any size that you would like.
- Heat olive oil in a large sauce pot on medium high heat. Add enough to cover the bottom nicely and then add the meatballs... browning them on all sides. Continue process until all meatballs are browned on all side. Just add meatballs to a paper towel lined dish so that they can rest while you prep the sauce.
- Now using the same pot, add a bit more olive oil and the diced onions. Add salt and pepper to taste. Now add the two 28 ounce cans crushed Tomatoes and one 28 ounce can diced tomatoes with the juice. add Oregano (fresh or dried) to taste.
- Bring sauce to a simmer and add all of the meatballs. Put on a low simmer, cover and cook for 4 to 6 hours. The longer you cook it... the richer the sauce will be.
- Make a batch of your favorite pasta and serve with meatballs and sauce. Add a bit more freshly grated cheese to the top as well as some fresh Parsley to add brightness. Enjoy!
This is such a versatile recipe. I save half of it or more and freeze in batches to be reheated later for a quick easy dinner. You can serve on a hero with mozzarella cheese or even slice the meatballs thin and create a delicious homemade Meatball Pizza. Delicious!

I had to pin this superb recipe! I’ve never
heard of Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs before. I have heard of Eggland’s Best.
I had to giggle when I read this, because I do the same thing, when I make meatballs. I freeze the extra I make for pasta dinners.
In my opinion, using fresh ingredients makes the recipe taste better. Thank you for sharing!
