Four Ways To Keep Your Hair Healthy

There’s nothing better than glossy, shiny hair. When your hair is great, your life feels great – you keep catching yourself in the mirror and feel so much better about yourself. There are lots of things you can do help keep your hair healthy, like knowing how often to wash hair according to your hair type, plus other basic hair care tips. Here are our top tips to make sure your locks are always looking the best they can.

1. Condition, condition, condition

There are lots of good hair care tips out there, but one of the most important is adequate conditioning. We can’t stress this enough. If you are struggling to stick to a routine then this hair solution might be of use to you. Proper conditioning is the absolute key to having a great ‘do. If your hair is prone to dryness get yourself a thick, deep conditioning mask appropriate for your hair type. Apply at least once a week or more if required. Read the instructions carefully and be sure follow their advice; usually however deep conditioning masks are applied to wet hair after shampooing and left on for at least three minutes.

2. Regular hair styling

Another important way to keep your hair looking healthy all year round is to have regular cuts. Hair that hasn’t been styled for a while is likely to have split ends and breakages in the strands. It is recommended that you get your hair cut every six to eight weeks. This may sound expensive but as long as you check out the Cost Cutters price list, you can keep the costs down. It also often depends on the length of your hair, but it is worth trying to stick to it if you can. Book your next appointment at your last one to make things easier.

3. Use good quality tools

The saying goes: a work (wo)man is only as good as their tools, and this is absolutely true when it comes to hair. You can’t get a good style, a proper blow dry or adequate straightening without high quality implements. Ask around for recommendations before you buy. If unsure, check which models your regular stylists go for. They are likely to use good quality tools and may be able to recommend some brands.

4. Pick products appropriate for your hair type

Likewise, when it comes to products – shampoos, conditioners, shaping waxes, dyes – be sure to only use good quality stuff that is suitable for your hair. Knowing your hair type well is a great start – it’s essential in order to know how often to wash hair, how to moisturize it, style it and so on. This can sometimes involve a bit of trial and error, though. Get samples whenever you can (many are available free on product websites) and see which products work best for your particular type of hair.

Those are our top hair care tips for making sure your ‘do always looks its best. Remember to condition sufficiently, style regularly and use tools and products that are going to really aid your look. When it comes to hair care, a little bit of effort goes a long way.

I am guilty of getting my hair cute only twice a year. I need to be better about this. I also get confused as to what hair products to get. I wish someone could help me with this.

I was always afraid to get my hair cut as I didn’t want to have it too short. But i realize just how healthy it is once trimmed. Such good tips, thanks for sharing.

I know I don’t get my hair cut often enough but I am faithful when it comes to using conditioner regularly, and I’ve finally gotten a hair dryer that makes all the difference in the world.

This is so important to know….how to take care of your hair. I have always believed it was not good to wash my hair every day. At the most once a week is good., in between just rinse it with water….no soap. I find this works the best for me.
