The Fancy Furnishings That Will Transform Your Home
A bit of retail therapy never hurt anyone, except maybe your bank account. And, buying a great new piece of furniture or furnishing can really brighten up your day and the room you choose to place it in. If this sounds like a good thing to you, keep reading for five furnishings that will totally transform your home.
Ornate anything will add a touch of glamour and make you feel all fancy inside, but especially mirrors. Getting a wooden, ornate mirror and painting it with a faded white paint will make you feel like you’re living in some French royal fantasy. If you don’t like the wooden idea, you could always get a metal version which might give your space a more ‘steam-punk’ vibe.
I’ve always wanted an apothecary table, ever since I saw that episode of Friends. They are big and can serve as a focal point for your living room, plus because of their size you can throw all manner of objects onto them, if you like that ‘lived in’ vibe for the room. And because they have so many little drawers they are a great place to keep magazines, remotes and sweets, or whatever takes your fancy, really… practical and stylish.
So far, if you combine the two items I’ve already mentioned with this one, you will soon start to have a room that looks like something out of Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings, but is that really a bad thing? Sheepskin rugs are so luxurious and instantly relax anyone who steps foot on one, but just make sure you check out what the fashionable sheepskin rugs for 2016 are before buying, as different styles come in and out of fashion every so often.
Coastal Patio Set
Moving outside of the home for a moment and into the garden, let’s have a look at the patio. Seeing as it is summer and you’re going to want to be spending as much time in the garden as possible – if you have a garden – it makes sense to make it as comfortable (and fancy) as possible. Coastal patio sets are what I term those outside sofas, chairs, and foot stools that look like they belong on a Maldivian coastal resort. They are usually made from either hard wood or a wicker. They look stylish, they’re really comfortable, and there is nothing better to lounge on as the summer sun sets over your perfect Sunday BBQ.
Lights can sometimes be overlooked when the average Joe is decorating their property. They either go for a plain lampshade or some cheap looking thing that they think is actually quite fancy. Going for a quality product will make all the difference when it comes down to how you feel about the room and how other people see it. Go for a stylish and understated chandelier or perhaps an – it’s that word again – ornate lamp that will sit lovely on your apothecary table.
The possibilities are endless and if you keep an open mind and take all the advice from magazines and the internet that you can, then your home will look fancy and stylish in no time.
