We all want to achieve restaurant quality in our kitchens. Do you find your meals falling short? Fear not. By taking just a few simple steps, you can achieve quality food every time you cook. The key to perfecting a meal is, of course, is practice. Even so, practice may not make you a top chef. If you want to get good, you need to take a few extra steps. This list should give you some idea where to start!

GET THE BEST EQUIPMENT

Getting the best kitchenware is essential in your quest for restaurant standard. Top chefs use top equipment, and you should too! Take time to find out what you need. Watch cooking programs, and take note of the pieces your favorite chefs use. Research to find the best equipment. Learn everything you can about the best meat cutting pieces. Make sure you know which blender you need to make your kitchen complete. The key here is to not worry about cost. Top quality cooking doesn’t come cheap. Bear in mind that anything you buy will be an investment. The more you spend on a piece, the more likely it is to last you!

ADAPT RECIPES

The more often you cook, the abler you’ll be to adapt recipes. Restaurant chefs haven’t gotten where they are by following recipe books blindly. Taking extra steps to adapt recipes you know will allow you to create recipes the whole family will enjoy. You’ll be able to aim your food at the particular tastes of the people eating it. Eventually, you won’t need a cookbook at all. Being able to cook from memory is essential if you want to achieve the best quality possible! Gain as much basic understanding as possible, then give yourself freedom to experiment.

ALWAYS BE WILLING TO LEARN

The more you learn, the better. If you think you’ve reached the level where you don’t need help, there’s more to learn. Watch as many cooking programs as possible to see how the pros do it. Search online to learn even more about the methods top chefs use. You should reach a stage where you don’t need cookbooks, but there’s still plenty to learn in those pages. Just like anything, you need to learn to excel. Don’t be afraid to take inspiration from any source available! Then, take that knowledge and make it your own.

PERFECT YOUR TECHNIQUE

Once you’ve found a technique that works for you, take the time to develop it. Every chef has their unique methods, and you should be no different. All that learning you’ve done will come in useful here. Take inspiration from the techniques you’ve seen, and adapt them so that they become your own. Take note of what works best for you in the kitchen. Do you prefer to do your preparation before you start, or do you like to do things as you go? Do you like a clean kitchen or a messy one? Learn your quirks by putting plenty of practice in!

I think the right equipment/tool is just as important as the best. Honestly, I’ve learned a lot about cooking from some really good cookbooks and cooking shows featuring outstanding chefs.

This was a very good article for those learning to cook. Having quality equipment is very important and taking good care of it is just as important. Over the years I’ve purchased quality equipment (pots, pans, appliances), the best knives I could afford and all the kitchen gadgets you could imagine, and have taken very good care of them. My pans and mixer for instance are 47 years old and are still being used. I found out early on that using cheap pan only causes food to scorch or burn easier. Don’t try to get the best all at once. A piece here and there or asked for as a gift is the best way to do it. Having quality equipment in the kitchen will make cooking easier.

I follow cookbook recipes to the letter until I’m comfortable making it on my own. Then I feel comfortable adapting it.

It took years of cooking before I felt like I could try making bread again. I think I felt I had mastered a few cooking techniques and was more confident in tackling yeast recipes.

Thanks So Much for Sharing This Post About Giving Your Kitchen a Revamp or Professional Touch, I Really Appreciate it! I Love to Cook but Since I Was in a Bad Motorcycle Accident and I Have Bad Chronic Pain I Can’t Really Be On My Feet for Long Periods of Time So I’m Always Looking for Things That Make Cooking a Lot Easier! I Had to Move Back Home With My Parents Since I Can’t Work So I Can’t Really Remodel but I Could Get Some New Smaller Appliances, Like a New Cappuccino Maker b/c I Have Always Wanted One of Those! Well Thanks Again for Sharing This Post, Have a Great Evening! – Jana
