3 Lamb Recipes the Whole Family Will Enjoy

Lamb can be cooked in a variety of different ways. Roasted, grilled, pan fried, stewed, boiled or sautéed, whichever way you cook it, it will always come out tasting amazing. It can be difficult to get the entire family round the table to eat the same meal; the kids are fussy, dad’s working late and you always seem to be cooking more than one meal. With these three lamb recipes you’ll get the whole family running for the table.

Posh Roast Lamb

We all pretty much know how to cook a Sunday roast, but if you have it every weekend, it can get a little boring. So why don’t you spice things up a bit, and do a slightly posher version of the classic dish.

For this dish you will need:

*8 New potatoes

*75ml of an oil of your choice

*Baby carrots

*12 garlic cloves

*25g of butter

*rosemary sprigs

*100ml of red wine

*redcurrant jelly

*500ml of lamb stock

*200g of spinach

*Loin of lamb

This dish only takes 50 minutes to prepare and cook, so if desired, it is quick enough to make on a school night. If you want a more cost efficient cut of meat, try substituting the loin for a leg of lamb or gigot steaks. This quick and easy posh roast serves four people. It can be considered a little bit of a treat so is lovely to have on the weekend as well.

Welsh Lamb Burgers and Coleslaw

Everyone loves burgers right? This dish is one that the kids can get involved in the preparation of. It takes only 15 minutes to cook, so in reality shouldn’t take any more than half an hour to cook and prepare.

What you’re going to need:

*450g of lean Welsh lamb mince

*15ml of oil

*2 cloves of garlic

*1 red onion

*Seasoning

*50g of hard cheese

*¼ of shredded red cabbage

*1 red apple

*4 spring onions

*10ml of English mustard

*45ml mayonnaise

*4 bread buns

As this is a quick an easy dish to make, why not add something extra as a side, such as homemade skin on chips. It is also a lovely idea for the family to make these together if you’re having friends and family round!

Leftover Lamb Pie

There’s always that little bit of food left over at the end of a Sunday roast, right? Normally you’d just put the left overs in a sandwich to eat as a snack in the evening or to take to work the next day. But how about making a delicious pie, that only takes an hour and a half instead; do I hear a yes?

What you’ll need:

*2 sticks of celery

*2 leeks

*2 onions

*3 cloves of garlic

*1kg of leftover roast lamb

*75g of unsalted butter

*3 tablespoons of olive oil

*500g of potatoes

*180g of long grain rice

*½ a bunch of fresh parsley

*3 large eggs

*300g of feta cheese

*Optional 60g of currants

*½ a table spoon of cinnamon

LAMB IS THE BEST FOR EATING. I SEE THE LAMB’S MEAT AS THE CLEANEST ONE TO EAT. WHEN I WENT TO THE PERSIAN GULF WAR WE ARE SOMETHING THAT SOUNDS LIKE SHAWARMA. IT WAS FROM LAMB. WE PAID A DOLLAR OF THEM THAT WAS 33 CENTS FROM US AND IT WAS REALLY BIG. IN THE FIRST MOVIE OF THE AVENGERS, IN THE VERY LAST OF THE MOVIE APPEAR ALL OF THEM EATING WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT. I CAN TELL YOU FOR THOSE YEARS IT WAS VERY CHEAP AND THREE PEOPLE COULD EAT WITH ONE OF THEM AND BE SATISFIED. LAMB IS THE BEST MEAT TO EAT. THANKS FOR THE RECIPES.
