Check out The Newest In SciFi & Fantasy Authors with Writers Of The Future Vol. 38

I have made 2023 a year for reading good books and if you visit often then you know that I love a good SciFi, Fantasy and Dystopian genre book. I have a huge book collection that I am always adding to and you will find lots of those genres on my bookshelves as for me they are the best stories to transport me to another place and to enjoy a good getaway. There is nothing I love more than being immersed in new good book and find myself transported to new worlds, altered worlds or whatever a writer can think up for the journey at hand. I recently stumbled upon the perfect book from L. Ron Hubbard that is showcasing the newest in bright sci-fi authors and it is his Writers of the Future Vol. 38 anthology series that is released annually. It is a showcase of the brightest and best of writers and illustrators and I am loving it as it is a literary buffet of sorts where each story in the book comes with a feeling of excitement and mystery. With this being a collection of stories from various artists each short story is completely different from the next and all of them are binge worthy and the can be enjoyed over and over again.

Let me start by explaining about Writers of the Future Vol. 38 is……

Simply put Writers of the Future is a goldmine for readers and writers alike. This is a program that discovers the best in new writers and illustrators, and then curates their best short story into a single volume for sci-fi and fantasy reader to enjoy. Basically Writers of the Future is a writing and illustration contest that discovers and nurtures NEW authors and illustrators in fiction and we have L. Ron Hubbard to thank for that. Each year the new anthology is published with the winning short stories illustrated and published throughout by the winning authors and illustrators and even Locus Magazine calls them the “hot new talent“. You can basically think of it as an American Idol or Britains Got Talent but for authors and illustrators. You can rest assured that the best of the best in new writers and illustrators are contained throughout meaning… you will enjoy the entire book and seriously want to immerse you into the stories over and over again. The judges that select the winners guarantee that you are getting the most amazing of stories as a reader and they are renowned judges including…..Brandon Sanderson, Orson Scott Card, Jody Lynn Nye, Nnedi Okorafor and many others.

All entries into the anthology are judged blind and there is absolutely no fee to enter as well and it is open to all new authors of science fiction, fantasy and horror. If you are an aspiring Scifi, Fantasy or Horror author you can learn more about the rules and how to enter here. The winners get to keep the rights to their story and receive prizes, plus they are flown out to Hollywood to meet the judges, attend an exclusive writing workshop and receive their award at a black-tie gala event with media coverage. Each year, in addition to the 12 winning entries, there is writing advice from the judges and L. Ron Hubbard. It also has several bonus stories from Frank Hebert, L. Ron Hubbard, and David Farland making it a must have for your reading list this year. I absolutely love that they nurture new talent like this and love that there are new amazing authors & illustrators out there creating new books and stories for me to enjoy and add to my growing collection.

If you love SciFi books and short stories as much as I do, Writers of the Future Vol. 38 is for you. With so many short stories contained within, you may be thinking it is easy to put the book down between short stories but that is not the case at all as this book is a binge reading experience like non-other. You will find yourself thinking… just one more story and then when that one ends you think… just one more again and the next thing you know…. hours have passed and for me that is truly what a good book is all about. I absolutely loved this book and you will too as you never know where each of the short stories contained within are going to take you… which is the whole point and I absolutely love that. I could not put down Agatha’s Monster by author Azure Arther & Illustrator Zine Lodi which is the first short story in the book and it is one of my favorites so far.

These amazing short stories are so good and made exceptional with the beautiful illustrations. The illustrations contained within Writers of the Future Vol. 38 help me to build the world in my head as I am reading and they are gorgeous works of art for sure. I have to say I saw that someone said in a review I read about the book…. that her favorite line in the book was: “Everyone’s got a story to hide, and I enjoy stealing it out of them.” I am so with the reviewer on this one as that line is pure gold and beautifully stated.
